Sorry it’s been a while but in our defence, we have been rather busy!
The good news is we can now reveal the release date of Pure Chess on Nintendo 3DS & Wii U as the 20th March, that’s a week today!!
It’s taken a bit longer than we planned but we’re proud to announce that Pure Chess now fully utilises the cross-platform play feature, meaning you can play against your friends on Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, iPad, iPhone, iPod and Android devices!
Don’t forget to head to the eShop on 20th March where you can download the game for £4.99 / €5.99 / $7.99, in the meantime you can check out the trailer here – and let us know what you think in the comments.
More exciting announcements soon so don’t be a stranger, ya hear?
We’re very pleased to announce that our latest game, Backgammon Blitz is out tomorrow in Europe on both PS4 and PSVita!
Check out the official launch announcement on Playstation Blog!
Come on, we’re spoiling you! Another announcement fresh off the press. We’ve once again joined forces with our friends at Ripstone to bring you the latest game in the Pure series, Pure Pool! See the PlayStation blog post here!
Yep, we’re hiring here at VooFoo, we’re looking for an experienced technology/engine programmer to come and join our super talented team in our quest to make ever greater games for next-gen consoles! If you love coding engines, and have done so before, feel you have what it takes and want to play a major role in a small yet focused and highly enthusiastic team then head over to our jobs page for more info!
Just because we’ve been quiet for a while, don’t think we’ve been resting on our collective laurels here at VooFoo Towers. The truth is, we’ve boarded the office door shut and have been working around the clock (literally for some of us!) to get our next project ready for release. The new game is called Backgammon Blitz and will be in the hands of PlayStation 3, 4 and PSVita owners before the white bearded guy in a red suit arrives!
Backgammon Blitz brings the ancient game of tactics and skill to the masses, while looking as pretty as a picture to boot. No light-map has been left unturned, no rendering technique unexplored to make Backgammon Blitz look as stunningly lifelike as possible (we asked the artists if they could go better than lifelike, but that just made them grumpy..).
You’ll be playing against friends, both online and locally as well as challenging A.I. opponents with skill levels from Beginner to Grand Master. That’s not all, as well as the traditional game we’ve decided to add a VooFoo twist in what we’re calling Blitz mode. In this you’ll be freezing opponents in ice, playing Joker cards to get out of sticky situations and even setting fire to the dice!
So that’s it, our big announcement. If you’re a master Backgammon player or have never even heard of the game, you’re going to love our interpretation of the classic battle of wits and cunning. Keep an eye out for further announcements closer to launch!
It’s finally here, Pure Chess will be available for download on your iPhone, iPad or Android powered smartphone or tablet from tomorrow! And guess what – it’s free to play! New to chess? Then learn to play in our comprehensive tutorials. Think you’re a bit of a chess master? Then challenge yourself against our grandmaster AI, and pit yourself against some tough opposition in the masters tournament. Want a casual game against your friends, or even strangers? We’ve got that covered too, complete with global ranking boards to compare yourself against others.
And as we said, it’s free, so get downloading tomorrow and be sure to rate it if you like it – and let your friends know!
We’ve been busy codling away on some new things and today we can reveal one of those projects is bringing our visually stunning Pure Chess to mobile platforms. Pure Chess is coming to iOS and Android soon. That’ll be the Apple App Store, the Amazon AppStore and Google Play Store.
We’ll be revealing more information in the coming weeks, for now you can feast your eyes on how the game is looking on an iPad.
We’ve had a great start to the year with Big Sky Infinity getting over 200,000 downloads (and counting) and as such we wanted to give all our players a big thank you, as well as give even more reason for more people to get the game.
So today we are releasing a free content patch containing a bucket load of completely fresh content as well as a bunch of improvements to the game.
The trailer shows hints at the new mad stuff, and here’s a list to get you right in the mood for space fighting:
3 new bosses – Giant Crab Boss, Meteor Ship Boss and Scrapyard Boss
2 new enemies – Trailer and Fogger
6 new black hole enemies – Vikings, Ninjas, Zombies, Pirates, Ghosts and Chaos
4 new events – Parallel Cascade, Laser Levels, Portals and Minefield
We are continuing to offer Cross-Buy on Big Sky Infinity so getting the game on Vita will get you the PlayStation 3 version for free, and vice versa.
Big Sky Infinity already boasts cloud saving, 4 player local multiplayer on PS3, asynchronous multiplayer on Vita, the ability to compete against friends or world high scores even when offline and randomly generated gameplay so you never play the same game twice – the patch (on-top of all this) is certain to knock your galactic socks off!
Big Sky Infinity is available to download now on the PlayStation Store.
Our new game Big Sky Infinity is out this week. We’ve collaborated with Boss Baddie to make an awesome twin-stick shooter for PS3 and Vita.
Big Sky Infinity features dynamic enemies and events that will alter their behaviour depending on your ability, all while flying through randomly generated galaxies so you will never get the same game twice.
Big Sky Infinity is out on the US PSN Store on Tuesday the 11th for $9.99 and the EU PSN Store on Wednesday the 12th for £7.99 / €9.99. Additionally, Big Sky Infinity is Cross-Buy so if you buy the game on either PS3 or Vita, you’ll get the other platform version too. We also made a Cross-Save system so you can carry your game on across both platforms.
As if that wasn’t enough, the PS3 version features local co-op for up to 4 players and supports stereoscopic 3D. The Vita version has its own asynchronous Horse multiplayer mode so you can test your skills against the whole galaxy.
The Pure Chess Easter Island set is inspired by the mysterious Moai of Easter Island, Polynesia. These head-like, monolithic chess pieces have been beautifully crafted, bringing the Moai not only to life – but to the chess board.
Download the set from the PlayStation Store on the 13th/14th of November for just £1.59 / €1.99 / $2.49, and you too can experience your own Polynesian escape to allow your inner grandmaster to play at its best.
