UI Artist – Contract – £ Negotiable
VooFoo Studios is currently seeking an experienced UI artist. This position is a 3 month initial contract, onsite with the possibility of extension and of permanent employment.

Responsibilities:
• Design and create UI components. This includes menus, stats and in-game HUD elements etc.
• Collaborate and communicate with artists and programmers in the creation and implementation of the game UI.
• To use your initiative to seek out creative, design, and functionality related solutions.
• Assist with the creation of promotional artwork.

Requirements:
• 3 years experience in the games industry, must include UI experience.
• Strong portfolio containing UI related work.
• Ability to see things from the perspective of the player.
• Excellent Photoshop skills.
• Excellent typography and iconography skills.
• Excellent eye for color, shape, composition.
• Extensive knowledge of game front-end systems design and functionality.
• Graphic design with Games User Interface creation experience.
• Ability to work well in a team, but also organized and independent.
• A good understanding of technical implementions and limitations.
• Highly motivated and passionate about games and UI design.

Desirables:
• 3D modeling/animation experience.
• 3dsMax experience.
• Vray experience.

Character Artist
We are on the lookout for an extremely talented character artist for a 6 month contract.
You will be creating realistic and stylized characters to the highest industry standard, demonstrating passion and motivation.

You should have strong skills in 3DS Max and Zbrush or Mudbox, have the ability to learn in-house tools and have experience of
working part of a production team, oh, some ninja texturing skills would come in handy as well.

You should have:
• 2 Years professional Character Artist experience in a film/television/games studio
• A thorough understanding of all technical aspects of character creation
• Strong knowledge of human anatomy and creating meshes with clean topology
• 3ds Max experience preferred but not essential
• Excellent knowledge of cutting-edge art techniques
• Expert in either Zbrush or Mudbox
• Experience of rigging, skinning
• Some animation experience would be nice, but not essential
• A passion for art and video games

3D Artist/Generalist
We’re looking for a talented all-rounder who doesn’t mind getting their hands dirty in various areas of the art discipline, although the role will mainly involve environment and prop creation you may be called upon to help out in other areas.

This position is initially a 6 month contract but could be extended at the end of that period.

You should have:
• 2 Years professional experience as a 3d Artist in a film/television/games studio
• A thorough understanding of all technical aspects of content creation
• Solid modelling and texturing skills
• 3ds Max experience preferred but not essential
• Excellent knowledge of cutting-edge art techniques
• Experience in either Zbrush or Mudbox preferred but not essential
• Some animation experience would be nice, but not essential
• Experience in Vray a plus (a big plus) but not essential
• A passion for art and video games

Lead Artist
We seek an experienced Lead Artist with oodles of talent to help us achieve breathtaking visuals. You must have the capacity to manage a small team of incredibly talented artists and work closely with our Art Director to ensure that standards are upheld and exceeded. Our ideal candidate is willing to get his/her hands dirty and help out with all aspects of asset creation. The ability to refine/improve our art pipeline and tackle technical issues will be looked on very favourably!

You must have at least one published title – preferably on PS3, XBox or PC.

Creative Producer
We’re looking for an incredibly creative and commercially proven individual with excellent communication skills to oversee ideation and development of game concepts right through to launch. You’ll be responsible for maintaining game design documentation and for working closely with the project manager and the rest of the team to ensure a shared and coherent vision of the titles you develop. You’ll also be involved in building and developing new and existing relationships with external producers.

You must have at least two published titles – preferably on PS3, XBox or PC.

Technology Programmer
We are looking for a talented and experienced senior technology/engine programmer to join our team. You’ll be fluent in C++, have exceptional maths skills, be well versed in low level systems and graphics libraries on PlayStation and/or Xbox platforms, and you’ll be expected to work in a wide variety of areas, including system level, network, audio, graphics, and game programming. You’ll possess excellent communication skills and have a proven ability to work well within a team. Your responsibilities will include the following.

  • Developing and enhancing all parts of our proprietary engine.
  • Writing and optimising low level graphics code.
  • Dealing with system level, network and audio code.
  • You should be fluent in C++ and possess a solid grasp of advanced principles such as template meta-programming.
  • Exceptional maths skills required – must have achieved A grade at A-Level – Further Maths A grade also a big advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to work within a team.
  • Very logical thinker.
  • Must have experience writing low level engine/systems code on at least one current/next gen console.

Ideally you’ll have at least a couple of published console titles, and will have taken a senior role in the development of proprietary engine code.
