Play by Mail is indeed turn based games. Each move is a message that is sent to your opponent. This means you can dip in and out of games when you have time to play, rather than needing potentially hours to dedicate to a whole game.
The same method will be used for Vita, yep.

Thanks for the game, as graphics are great and difficulty levels are well thought, going from adequate for a 4 yo to very challenging for a club player.
But, considering i expected PureChess to be a definitive game in the sense that HustleKings feels like one, lack of realtime online is a major letdown.
Have you ever heard about Blitz Chess? This is the mode almost everyone plays in all internet chess websites. It’s pick-up and play, addicting and very portable friendly! How did you miss that??
Also i miss 2 things: option to lock the view wherever i like (don’t like the default view), and option to remove letters/numbers from the boards as well as visual aids (movements, etc), particularly when only moving the cursor, as the board becomes more difficult to read and break the realism aspect of the graphics.
Finally should we expect to get a free vita version if we already bought the ps3 one?

Local two player blitz can be set up by using a low time on the Move timer option.
You’ll need to buy both versions to get Pure Chess on Vita and PS3.
