We’ve posted a video of me playing one of the Online Bonus Challenges in Hustle Kings on Vita. I went for Pocket Timer which requires you to pot 15 balls as fast as you can.
The time you take is then posted to an online leaderboard so you can compare your time with your friends and the world.
Watch the video to see how I got on, and then boot up your Vita and Hustle Kings to see where you can get to on the rankings and if you can beat my time
There’s also a thread in our forum where you can discuss this video and your times.
Sorry it’s been a while since our last post. It’s not you, it’s us. We have been busy putting all the finishing touches to Hustle Kings for Vita.
Everyone here at VooFoo is proud to say that you will all be able to get your hands on Hustle Kings as a Vita launch title on 22nd of February. Once you’ve got your Vita all unwrapped, head to the PlayStation Store and you’ll find Hustle Kings there for a superb £6.49. If you have pre-ordered a Vita then you can redeem your discount voucher to get Hustle Kings for just £1.49!
And if that wasn’t tempting enough, you’ll also get the PS3 version for free! That is a flabbergasting deal right there. The two versions are very different so you’re almost getting two games for the price of one.
We have spent a lot of time and effort making Hustle Kings on Vita as great as possible. There are a lot of improvements from the PlayStation 3 version of Hustle Kings, along with a lot of entirely new content just for Vita.
We wanted to take full advantage of the Vita’s unique inputs, and we think we’ve done so with a selection of control methods to cater for everyone from novice players right up to all you Hustle Kings pros. If you want to bask in the Vita’s touchscreen glory then it’s really straightforward to play Hustle Kings using touch. Or if you are more into thumbsticks and buttons then you can do that too just as easily.
To limber you up for this new Vita experience we’ve made an entirely new Training Mode that will teach you everything from aiming and breaking off to swerves and cue ball control. We have also completely re-designed Career, which now has eight unique pool crews to hustle against on your path earning HKC (Hustle Kings Credits) and becoming a certified Hustle King.
There are also a range of ways to play multiplayer matches. You can play either Head to Head or Multiplayer with up to 8 players, including Cross-Play against players on both Vita and PlayStation 3.
You can test the online multiplayer waters in Practice lobbies where your ranking and HKC are not affected. Once you’ve got a taste for playing online, try your luck in Ranked lobbies to improve your online ranking without risking any HKC. And for those of you wanting to prove your hustling skills, Hustle lobbies are where you can put your HKC on the line.
Also, exclusive to Hustle Kings on Vita, is our selection of online Bonus Challenges. These are unique score-based games that will test your speed, precision and stamina. Upload your scores to online leaderboards to prove to your friends and the world that you are the ultimate Hustle King.
And on top of all that, there’s Message Play which lets you play a game via messages. If you’ve got five minutes to burn while you wait for a train, start a Message Play game, take your shot and message it to a friend. When he’s got a few minutes free, he can take his shot and then message you to let you know it’s your turn. You can take your shot whenever you like and have multiple games active to make sure you’ve always got someone to play against.
We hope you all have great fun playing Hustle Kings on Vita. To keep up to date with Hustle Kings and our other projects, keep checking back here or follow us on twitter @VooFoo. We are always keen to hear your reaction to our games and welcome your feedback. Now go get hustling!
We’d like to say a big thanks to Quietlywrong for creating a video that will undoubtedly help a lot of beginners! If you’re hunting the 147 gold trophy then the tips in his video will help a lot. He talks you through many of his techniques and shows you that it’s not actually THAT hard if you go about it in the right way.
Best of luck!
I’m pleased to announce that Pudds is our Hustle Kings Pool Cup winner! He’s won the past two official competitions so he’s clearly a worthy champion and the man to beat should there be any similar competitions in the future (fingers crossed). The match was intriguing, with Pudds’ opponent, Gazovwar, unluckily potting the black by accident in the first frame after taking a commanding lead. As usual, ice man Pudds didn’t panic and went about business as usual by winning 3-0 in a best of 5. The second frame was my personal favourite with Pudds pulling off two magnificent jump shots – the second of which was to escape a snooker that Gazovwar clearly played for. Demoralising for Gaz, I’m sure!
Well done to both players and congratulations to Pudds. You can view all 3 frames of the final below:
In addition to the final, a play-off for 3rd place was contested between Quietlywrong and Homerjnick. Both players obviously wanted to avoid the wooden spoon and gave us an entertaining match that was finished in two frames. Homerjnick emerged triumphant and unfortunately for Quietlywrong, he didn’t get to finish in the top 3 this time, but we’re sure he has all of the skills to do better on another day.
Thanks again to LordRoss for setting up a very entertaining competition! We enjoyed it thoroughly and look forward to organising similar events in the future. If you’d like to be involved then why not visit our forum to meet new friends, share ideas and suggestions and basically hang out with fellow gamers!
The second Hustle Kings Pool Cup semi-final between Pudds and QuietlyWrong was always going to be a mouth-watering prospect, and it didn’t disappoint. Their reputations preceded them, and they had a lot of pressure to perform. Pudds had won a brand new 46″ Sony Bravia TV in our last competition, and QuietlyWrong stormed through the qualifiers this time around with a high score of 41,100 HKC.
With several live spectators and a lot of anticipation, QuietlyWrong kicked off the match by potting a stripe off the break. He appeared to be playing with confidence and went on to win the game in some style. However, Pudds didn’t let QuietlyWrong’s good form in the first game psyche him out. In fact, the added pressure seemed to raise his game as he came back strongly in the second to tie the match at 1-1. Both players had chances and it’d come down to who had the better nerve. Pudds is clearly a man of ice because after running out of position in the final game, he audaciously attempted a spectacular jump shot to regain control. Amazingly, he pulled it off, without an aim line or any visual aid!
That shot clearly gave him a psychological edge and ultimately, the match. QuietlyWrong played incredibly well but Pudds marches on to the final where he’ll take on Gazovwar for the Hustle Kings Pool Cup title and prize. I highly recommend that you view the entire match in sequence as the skill level shown by both players is immense!
Next week, I’ll let you know what happens in the 3rd/4th place play-off between QuietlyWrong and Homerjnick, followed by coverage of the final between Pudds and Gazovwar. Best of luck to all of the players!
In a nerve-jangling and super tense semi-final, Gazovwar emerged triumphant after a valiant effort from his dangerous opponent, Homerjnick! Both players showed understandable tension (a prize at stake and live spectators viewing every shot), but still managed to give us a great match with Gaz finally winning 2-1.
Considering the fact that no aiming lines/guides were used, both players managed to pull off some stunning shots and we hope that tomorrow’s second semi-final will provide us with the same level of skill and entertainment!
We’d like to say a big thank you to both players and congratulate Gazovwar on his victory!
To see who’ll meet Gaz in the final, check back in a couple of days and we’ll hopefully have video replays from Pudds vs QuietlyWrong (a match we’re very excited about!).

We’ve been keeping a close eye on the competition and we’re pleased to say the standard of pool has been pretty mind-blowing so far! LordRoss did a YouTube semi-final draw for the competition here:
The highest scoring (41,100 HKC) qualifier en route to the semis is QuietlyWrong with this amazing clear-up:
It really is pretty incredible considering the last competition to win a Sony Bravia TV was won with a mighty impressive score of 27,400! The winner of that competition is a player called Pudds – he’s also managed to make the semi-finals this time, along with Homerjnick and Gazovwar.
We’re really looking forward to an elite showdown of the greatest Hustle Kings players out there and, with matches due to take place over the next two weeks, we’ll let you know how it all pans out! YouTube video links will be posted right here so everyone will get a chance to see just how good they are.
Thanks to all players that participated and best of luck to those that made it through – the stage is yours..
